Default Air in heater?

Recently I put a new thermostat in my sierra cosworth 4x4. Now I have noticed that the heater stays cool. The temp gauge is between the 'R' en 'M' so that's a normal value. Also the fans go on and of at the right temperature. They start when the needle is at the top of the 'R' and cut out when it is back to the 'M'.
So in driving there is nothing strange only that the heater stays very cool. I suspect some air has been stuck in the heater. But i have done now 150 Miles with the new thermostat and still the heater stays cool.

Has anyone an idea how to solve this?

Default heater

i got a saph 2L dohc. when i got the car the heaters worked. but the engine was tired and the cam fucked up on me, so i changed it for a donor unit. as u know all hoses came off but when this new engine was in, the heaters didnt work. its been like it for ages and it pisses me off. no heat is dangerous in the frost chaps! u've confirmed it for me. i think its an airlock too but am unsure how to clear it. sorry

On the 4x4 saph cos there is a bleed screw on the top of the thermostat housing, did you bleed the system using that when you filled it up?????

Otherwise heater matrix could be blocked, take both the pipes off under the bonnet on bulkhead and stick the hose pipe through them, check the flow of water coming out is same as going in

as CosKev3 they often get blocked with old anti-freeze. try flushing with hosepipe and if blocked use drain cleaner.

otherwise, it could be that hot water is in the heater, but the lever is not moving the air blend flap with the cable

The heaters in my saff were pretty poor but i never thought anything of it until my matrix burst and was leaking all over my carpet, now that i`ve changed it my heaters are shit hot, i`d say yours may be blocked a bit do as foreigneRS says and see if that helps
