Default actuator problem

Went to wind up my actuator (-31) for 15psi yesterday, only to find that there weren't enough threads left on the rod (4!) to wind it up, and when I tried winding it down to protect my turbo (after much 3-in-1 and WD40), the entire rod turned.

This is bad isn't it...

Entire rod is supposed to turn if not connected at turbine end and this is why it has a locknut to fix the two to each other, if it was fixed at actuator end to stop it turning and turbo end it would not need a locknut.

So it's a locknut then... doh!

I feel somewhat small, and should've RTFM...

If the turbo cannot achieve 15 psi or thereabouts with -31 wound up maybe the seat is knackered or leaking ?

Could the boost guage be lying? Can they be meddled with so that they don't read higher than a certain amount? (clutching at straws here)

Boost guage could indeed be lying, either way it really needs going on a ROLLING ROAD, for a full load fuelling check, before the melted pistons!!
