is exactly what i was thinkin when i took the wheel of, think the car will have 2 go in 4 trackin, the only other thing i can think is that the rear wheels have been swaped 4 the front at some point, havent had the tyres changed since i bought the car

As said really, crap camber does NOT CAUSE TYRE WEAR, bad toe does, on the rear as it toes OUT as std way too much, you can get plates to correct most of this for Ł10 a pair, couple of hours work to fit and job done.

When they do the tracking, get them to wind the toe in 1 or 2 degrees from static parallel

And make sure the steering wheel's straight - otherwise it'll pull to one side all the time!

and make sure they set the geometry for the 4wd car and not the 2wd version as they are both different

then do the winding in business

the wear on that tyre is deff camber and not from toe as you will get wear all across the tyre from toe

Other way around matey, just look at early fiats/beemers some even with positive camber and still no inner wear.
The tyre can deform(fit) in relation to the road camber or such like but cannot do anything about being slid sideways across the road constantly, which it is doing with too much toe.
This is why when you buy a kit form R+B they go in the two REAR holes of the hub to counter toe as opposed to the top ones to counter camber.

camber is the top of tyre tipping in / out to much .
if it was to much toe you would have wear all across the tyre
I have over 10 years in the trade so i hope a little bit about this

I only have twenty five years, and can assure you what I say about the fitment of the rear shims is correct, you could always phone MIKE R on 01508 557822, to check ?
10 Years eh, you must be one of the new fangled fitters then ?
Since myself and my dad have fitted the shims to correct toe, we have not had to swap tyres round or have any wear out on inner edge.
You are welcome to do what you want and leave others to do what they want, there that is a happy compromise ?
