Took my car for the test today to find the emissions are too high. The car was setup before xmas on the rolling road. If the car is running a little bit more than standard boost will the emissions on tickover need to be as high as 8? As far as I know the car is standard as it hits overboost at around 11 psi when giving it some but htis has only happened to me once. The car has been rolling roaded at 270 BHP twice can this be right on a standard setup?

U can adjust ur emissions on ur car if u remove the engine ecu.There is a screw on the side 2 adjust. 270 bhp r u sure it hasnt been chipped a stage 1 chip is normaly about 270 bhp.

Is the chip inside the ecu or does it plug in like the fiesta. Not done anything with the car as yet.

8 on tickover jesus are you trying to drain the oil reserves!!
This is more than choke, very doubtful if CO pot willl adjust this much at all.
Power is not standard it is stage one, look at chip and -31 actuator on turbo.
Either the r/r figures are out or something else is as it will not hit 270@11psi.
The idle CO is adjustable on car without removal of ECM(ECU), there is a small screw at the side of the ECM to adjust COUNTER CLOCKWISE FOR LEAN,
if this does not bring it down suffeciently look at wiring and replace the CTS, or coolant temperature sensor, at rear of block passenger side with two pin connector going to it, this is THE THING THAT DECIDES the CO, idle is just a trim, the CTS is the main governing factor for emmisions, and what the chip or map in it refers to.

Thanks for the info. I'll turn it down whens its connected up for the emissions and then put it back to how it was to avoid any running lean problems and take it to get setup properly.

Just turn down to 2-2.5%CO, it will be fine and not lean.
The idle can be as lean as you like it will affect low speed running a bit, but is of very little effect compared to the on boost fuelling, even if .25%CO it would not harm as on boost is dictated by MAP in ECM(ECU) with regard to CTS as main factor others such as ATS are small corrective factors just for fine tuning.
As you say best to get on a ROLLING ROAD, for peace of mind.
