New production side skirt clips
Hi! As Ford no longer supplies the clips for the side skirts i am looking on making a new production of them. I,ve got a friend who is able to make them. we are also looking at different plastics to increase the durability of them, as tha standard ones are crap. Is there any intrest of these in UK for your cossies?
Cheers!

Yes, there may be some in stock left, but in Sweden there are not any left, so they will be running out soon i guess! And the quality is as it is anyway.

I made some metal side skirt clips, I bent them to the shape of the plastic ones and used silicone to attach them to the sills.
All that it cost was the price of a pair of cheap tin snips and the metal was bent in my vice.

Hi! we have made a prototype in Aluminium which is mounted with two small screws that clamp on the car, and a hole in it where you attach the sideskirt with a small screw instead of a rivet. Much easier to remove. I get back with prices for a complete set when i know the production cost for them. These will not break!

My mate who works at Ford did this when restoring his Saph and said it stopped them snapping.

i wouldn't want to be screwing aluminium to the steel sills, it's asking for corrosion problems

If I remember correctly, aluminium is the sacrificial material when in contact with steel, I am sure if you use steel rivets on aluminium panels it is the panel that corrodes around the rivet and the panel then falls off, should be fine though if the steel is painted as it will stop the reaction, I am only about 70% sure of this though as been a long time since I was at college.

Yeah, the side skirts are held on by plastic brackets that rivet to the skirt and push onto the sill.
I have the same problem with mine, i've had 2 sets of them but the plastic is really brittle and they break so easily!
THey should still be available from fords though.

thats why mine is bent because i bent one of the rivits that hold in in place pushing the fooker on
it's about 3 inches long and has 3 holes in it
