my 4x4 cossie has suddenly started sticking the revs at 3000rpm. if you drive under 3000rpm its fine but as soon as you go over that and changegear the revs stay on. any ideas, cheers

had these when i went to turn my dads over this time round. the throttle body kept sticking... what colour is yours mate... i might have seen it around leyth

ye mine does this. theres a cilinder censer on the plenem idel positionin valve or summet just unplug it

First determine if it is the cable sticking, maybe due to being melted on turbo, from what you say does not sound like the usuall ISCV problem, but worth a look ?

hmm... I had the same problem twice.

Both times was found in the same place. I'll try to explain it to you. There is a valve for keeping the idle steady in the morning when you first start the engine. After a while it drops down the revs when it gets warm.

By 99% is this valve. As for the position I am not sure where it is as my engine is an 1.6 CVH and the place is behind the CFI unit.

iscv off car and soak it in carb cleaner ,u will probs see the shite run over ur fingers as u spray it

So you mean that it's idling at 3k? and when you let off to change gear, the revs go up/down to 3k?

Inlet manifold gasket or other air leak...?

Does it do that when you push the throttle linkage, with the pedal, or both? And does the throttle linkage seem to stick or feel stiff when you push it with your hand?

i should be using my dads its 4x4 and standard mate, i use my focus st170 02 reg in blue 5 door
