Default Advantage/Disadvantage removal of dump valve

I have been reading threads on running without a dump valve and cannot establish if it is good or bad. I am running a Saff 4x4, 803's,3 bar map, NMS stage 3 chip,K&N panel filter. For maximum performance, as I am not interested in making noises, should I remove the Dump valve and why if Ford put it there in the first place? Can anyone help please

Ask yourself this question, WHY DOES A MANUFACTURER FIT A PART IF NOT NEEDED.
The answer is to AVOID WARRANTY CLAIMS for knackered turbo.
Hiow much damage it will do has never been established but as air itself is damaging at high speed think of your poor turbo's comp wheel being subjected to such forces, did you know the tips exceed 500mph ?

I absolutely hate the dump valve sound also.
I'm still searching for a way to have silent gear changes

For anyone that wants SILENT GEAR CHANGES just dump excessa ir into filter housing, AS FORD DID.
I am going to be using a LPG valve to switch mine between noisy/quiet.

Why not just buy a recirculating dump valve

I have a recirculating Bailey DV-30 dump valve. As I fitted a Pace RS500 spec intercooler I had to lose the intake pipe that used to feed the airbox as the intercooler won't fit otherwise.
Now I have a Group A filter and Trumpet with the recirculating dump valve plumbed into that. The air still escapes through the filter on gear changes giving me that annoying, attention seeking sound

It's fine if you're an attention seeker.
I prefer to not drive around with my stereo pumping and huge whooshing sounds every time I change gear and hoping that everyone will notice me. I'm more of the low key driver.

We seem to be getting away from my original question which is, for maximum performance (which is all I am interested in) should I leave the dump valve on? I guess the chatter when I take my foot off the "loud" pedal is the turbo slowing down real quick as there is a pressure build up in the intercooler and cannot pump any more. As I understand it the dump valve releases that built up pressure back in to the turbo on the intake side to spin the turbo up again. This I would see as helping the situation not hindering it. Am I right?

what hapens is when u are boosting u get all ya boost pressure go in to the engine then when u shut the throtle off the the throtle butterfly is like a brick wall for the air causing it to stop dead and the chatter is the turbo choping the returning air up realy quickly.By fitting a dv u alow the air to vent away alowing the turbo to ceep spining freely alowing a faster spool up. a recurculating dv just dumps the air back in to the system has the same affect but should b vertualy silent hope that healps
