Default Paintwork dilemma

Just got my Sapphire about 10 days ago and on closer inspection it's got a fair few stone chips up the sides and the bonnet, few on the roof etc.

The paint is still good don't get me wrong, the car's a 1991 so it's 16 yrs old and has never been painted. 50k Ford history etc.

Now do I get it painted or stick with the original paintwork since a 16yr old car is bound to have marks due to it's age. I don't want to devaluate it yet would like it looking spot on!

Here's a pic of it

I've recently had my bonnet blown over and I'm much happier with it now. I have no plans to sell my car, but I basically took a load of pictures of the bonnet before hand, so if ever i did come to sell I could show how the bonnet was previously.

I think if you have photo evidence and keep it all historied then it wont make a difference TBH. Just pay that extra and have a quality job done!

Dark colours just show everything

If the scratches arent that big you can get your car mopped, brings the paint up to its best, i dont no if theres anyone in your area but im sure most good paintshops do it

I'm not after the whole car painted as it doesn't need it, I'd like the roof done though, the sunroof and 'cassette' removed and painted in the well, front screen and rear screen out job

Might be expensive! Then again bodywork and painting is a dark art to me
