Nice cheers. Looks like yours is gonna be a flyer? I work on hogwood ind estate not too far from wokingham. Reason about the relay is that the fans are not cutting in when the engine is getting to temp. Ive changed the sensor in the bottom of the rad but no different. Not sure wot else it could be? It also has air con would this make a difference?

had the same fault with mine, the relay is about Ł6-Ł8 from ford.can make sure its the relay by bridging the terminals.aircon wont make a difference they are switched by the rad outlet temp sensor.car should be pretty quick hopefully!

Top man will sort one tomorrow!
wot BHP u think you will be gettin then? Have you rebuilt the engine urself or has a company done it .
Mine has done 95K but still runs fine apart from noisy tappets (very annoying) herd this is common tho? Sure it will need to be rebuilt in the future who do you reccomend in this kinda area?

hello you 2. you're both very local to me in Finchampstead/Wokingham - just off Nashgrove Lane
there's someone else in the area that sometimes has 2 sapphs outside, know them?
will you be at the monthly meet in Arborfield next Wednesday?
if you need any spares or advice, i'm always happy to help.
mike23 noisy tappets is easy to fix - take them out using a sucker, not a magnet and soak them in hot parafin for a bit. you need to get all of the old gunky thick oil out of them to let in fresh oil. sometimes to get the old out, you need to squeeze the little piston bit in to squirt the oil out. do that by putting it in the vice with soft jaws and a piece of wood or plastic to push the piston in and slowly tighten the vice. do that several times while rinsing in the parafin (or degreaser) until the piston is free and springy and can pump the degreaser in and out easily with finger pressure.

mike23 i may have a spare lying about in the garage. will look tonight.
unlikely to be the relay at fault to be honest, it's more likely that the fusebox has melted so that the power doesn't get across the fuse anymore. it's a common problem.
you could pop around tomorrow evening after work and i'll have a look at it for you if you want? i can get home for just after 5:30 if needs be, although i'm usually about 6:30.

rather not post the exactlocation on a public forum - could be nasty people looking
sorry mike23, haven't got any. i had a clear out a while back. there's nothing special about them anyway, you just need a normally open relay capable of handling the current that it says on the side of it.
but i'm guessing it's the fuse box. there is another way that doesn't involve changing the whole fusebox, and that's to use a sub loom just for the fans. very easy to do. if you come to the meet next wednesday, i'll show you one that i have on mine that you can get from a sierra with abs from the scrappy
