Im now running the 071's as well...with no probs Tried the champions in the past and found that they died after 1500miles....found the pp8's were spot on but got worried about them killing my engine...hence the swop to 071. Been in for about 2500 miles now with out fault

Are these plugs made by Motorcraft and is there full name 071's ?.
Obviously having the finis code is a huge help but some of the parts guys at ford over here aren't too smart so it's always good to have there full name and exactly who manufactures them
ps. I use Motorcraft AGPR 12PP8's in my Stage 2 (soon to be 3) Sapphire running 18psi of boost, is this a good plug to use or am I likely to melt a piston or something?

Yeah and they only Ł2.39ea, unfortunately my local friendly Ford dealer will only VOR them and in boxes of 10!
Anyway, if they come highly recommended then must be good

I know i had to buy a box of ten no one had them and they wouldn`t send 4 so they cost me Ł28 
hope there worth it , motocraft super it says on the blug , with blue rings round it is this right ?

right got mine in and noticed a difference in the mornin as it was a bit cold, it held strong revs when letting off thrrottle and didnt dipp below 500rpm, much better imo than the pp8

So what can everybody agree is a good gap to have with the 071 spark plugs?.
I have some on order but I'd love to know what to gap them to?.

Mine are at 0.6, and idle is a bit up and down especially when cold, so I tried at 0.7 idles better but cuts out above 20psi, so I have gone back to 0.6. I would like to solve this but do not know what plugs to try. I have a group A coil as well so voltage must be good

is this maybe why my revs on idle are sometimes up and down I've talked to a man that prepared cossies for rallying...he said that 0.55-0.6 the best is for a cossie with 300-380bhp, and he has also worked for Ford Motorsport...so i'll trust that man

Sorry to bump this thread guys, but I'm going to gap my new 071 plugs this week and before I do I was wondering if any of you chaps in the posts above me had changed their 071 plug gap?.
Obviously there was a bit of talk between 0.55mm-0.60mm and also 0.70mm
From what I can gather by what you guys have posted, 0.70mm will give you a smoother idle but may be a little lumpy higer up the rev range.
And 0.55mm-0.66mm will be sleightly rougher on idle but perform better higer up the rev range.
Just curious as to what might have developed with you guys altering your gap and if anyone has some good info that would be helpfull.What is a better trade off too, smoother top end and rougher at idle or the other way around?.Form what I hear it's pretty common for a Sierra to be a little rough on idle?.
My Sapphire is just a touch over 300HP, running 18 PSI of boost, with, Green 803s,-31, 3 Bar, RS500 Spec Intercooler,Mongoose Exhaust, Bailey Breather System, Standard Turbo.
Lastly, what gap do the Motorcraft 071s come with as standard?.
