Default Adrenaline Rear Beam Group Buy *5th MARCH DEADLINE* BEFORE PRICE INCREASES

SEE POST ON 25/2/10 FOR UPDATE

We are doing a Group Buy on the STG1, 2 and 3 Adrenaline Rear Beams with a minimum of 3 people.

(You may have seen this mentioned on other forum boards and in other rooms on here).

One of the handling problems of the cosworth is the camber and toe change as the rear suspension compresses. You will see this from looking at lowered cars - the tyres are leaning in at the top which only gets worse when on power . This is due to the design of the beam - call it packaging or whatever. Basically the arms are too short. There's loads of drawings of beam locations points etc on the internet showing the angles etc. All these problems then start affecting the front of the car (understeer).

To us it means unpredictable handling, tyre wear on the inside edges and those crap smokey 'J turn' videos of Cossies drifting/playing in car parks that we end up seeing on YouTube

The beam has been optimised with the space available (requires Mongoose style exhaust) to correct the issues of the camber change.

Below is a description of each beam -

The STAGE 1 beam is adjustable on the inner arm mounts by using rose joints which adjusts the camber - £650.00 (£565.22 plus VAT).

The STAGE 2 beam is adjustable on the inner and outer mounts which also allows you to adjust the toe as well as the camber - £910.00 (£791.30 plus VAT).

The STAGE 3 race beam is a fully fabricated, lightweight and an adjustable beam. Can only be used with Coilovers. Recommended for track use only - £1820.00 (£1582.61 plus VAT).

The the STG 1 and 2 beams are exchange and you get the same beam you give in i.e. 3 Door supplied same 3 Door beam is returned.

They are shot blasted before they are modified to check condition and powder-coated gloss black afterwards.

There is a non-exchange surcharge but it varies due to availability - worst case is £150.

Arm on the left is from the STAGE 3 race beam - arm on the right is from the STAGE 2...

The picture below is of the extended inner link of the trailing arm. This is the same on all the beams as this section is what corrects the problem with the standard beam which is the camber change on compression.

This is another picture of the STAGE 2 arm...

and picture of a rose joint that is used...

NB: I WILL ASK ADRENALINE TO CONFIRM ALL THE ABOVE INFO, INCASE I'VE GOT ANY DETAILS WRONG (as I've been down the pub)!!

The prices for the Group Buy are:-

STG 1 = £650.00 (£565.22 plus VAT)
STG 2 = £910.00 (£791.30 plus VAT)
STG 3 = £1820.00 (£1548.94 plus VAT)

These prices are plus an exchange beam and do not include postage. They can be shipped to anywhere in the UK and overseas.

We have had a quite a lot of interest so far and provisional orders, but as yet no definite orders placed.

Please let us know asap if you have any questions or if you are interested in being included in this Group Buy.

Many thanks,

Daniel

Just a thought , It may help if you show people what a stage 1 / 2 / and 3 are

ie, what is the difference between them

also , do they come as in the picc , powder coated etc

Also, are these available for the 3 door as they have a different rear arm

Include the overseas price without a beam. In many cases it costs more money to ship a beam for exchange that to have one sourced there.

Be aware of the 36,000 Merkurs over here and the guys that might want some of these...

Sorry mate but 3 doors dont have the same arms at all

the ARB on a 2wd saff locates on the inside of the arm and on a 3 door it locates on the outside

2wd 4x4 and escoss are all the same

I think STG 1 has the inner bush replaced with a Rose joint same as Ahmeds.
STG 2 has both inner & outer joints replaced with Rose joints.
STG3 is a complete new beam, thinks its been called the RACE beam as its all refabricated.

Hope it helps, sure Dan will confirm. In the top pic the arm on the right is a STG 2 the one on the left is the STG 3.

I've put my name down for a STG2

Cheers

sorry to go off topic..

Good info dude!

Is it just the ARB mounting point or are the arms a slightly different shape to give a different camber? / stronger etc?

Cheers

Just the location of the ARB mate ,

front hubs are also one off on the 3 door / 500 and give better camber ( i think its camber ) than the std 2wd saff hubs

All beams can be adjusted for Toe & Camber its just how its done, on the STG 1 I think they need to keep the outer bush on the arm but they slot the mounting point. the inner has the rose joint for adjustment.

On the STG 2 it does away with both bushes on the arm so no need to slot the outer mounting point due to the rose joints.

STG 3 is a refabricated beam, not sure what the deal is there, maybe weight saving etc.

This is only what i've been able to find out so it might be worth chatting to Dan who's organising the Group buy for more info.

Chris.

Hi Guys
just a qick reply b ut will help clear a few things up, With reguards the 3dr arms yes they are different but only the ARM pionts so the option is to supply 3 door arms and they will be named to go back to that person or conver to Late style ARB or even Escos and improve handling further without going OTT.
St 1 camber adjyustment only( although you can slot outer holes to adjust toe)
St 2 Toe and camber adjustment with 4 rose joints
St 3 as st 2 but with fabricated arms with a total weight saving of around 10kg unsprung weight. (please not some cars require clearancing on inner arches as the would using a group A box beam)

Thanks
Danny

Can some one post photos, how modified beams look with original compared? Also, the rear arms also? How this extended inner mounting point help to get better handling? Thanks

Thanks Danny,

I'm very interested in a stage 2 beam. The stage 3 sounds awesome, 10kgs of unsprung weight is a terrific saving! The stage 2 should be fine for my application though. I'm stil very keen to take a look at one in the person if possible? I think i'd go for one with the EsCos ARB mounts rather than 3 door ones.
cheers
Tom

Tom you will need to make up some floor mounts for the ARB off an escos. Have a look at Taps thread on his thunder saloon xr4i

The STG1 beam has been optimised to obtain zero toe on compression. At certain settings there may be a small amount of toe, but it doesn't affect the handling in comparison to a standard beam.

The Magnex (Twin Box) or standard exhausts needs the centre section shortening to move the boxes forward towards the front of the car. The Mongoose goes more-or-less straight on.

Is your car 2WD or 4x4 as I could possibly supply a beam so your car won't be off the road while the beam is being made and then send it out on an exchange when we receive your beam.

The exhaust sounds like the one that needs a minor fiddle with to get the beam fitted. No other modifications to the car is necessary.

Will send you a PM with details of all the payment options for if you want to order. Please let us know in the meantime whether you would like to put your name down for this Group Buy.

We have now started receiving the exchange beams, so thank you to those who have ventured out in the snow to get them posted

We should be dropping them off at Adrenaline early next week to get the first lot of orders made up

Please let us know if there is anyone else interested in participating in this Group Buy.
