Ford Puma 1.7 timing belt.
Are the timing belts on the 1.7 16v engines similar to do like the 1.25 and 1.6 16v engines.
Do you loosen the top 2 cam pulleys off so that they are free floating and if the bottom crank pulley bolt comes loose is that free floating too I take it.

Yeh I know.Im not daft.
When I did the wifes old V reg 1.25 fiesta the bottom pulley came loose.
When I did our 53 reg focus 1.6 the bottom pulley was tight as fook si I had to smash the bottom timing belt cover off.
I always use the t belt locking tools.

Not Crazy, just Unwell
I'm not saying you are daft lol. When I did mine the bottom pulley was fooked from the previous owner. It was an absolute nightmare. When I did get it off part of the casting was broke and rattling on the belt. Some previous bodge.
Take it easy and basic that's all I'm saying. I reckon it was originally hard and they broke it swinging on it.
Good luck you probs won't need it

That lovely timing belt cover bolt that's half hidden behind the power steering pump pulley. Did you get the crank pulley off ok? We have a puller for them at work as they can be a git to get off.

Yeh thats the bolt.I had to take the aux belt tensioner off too so that that pas pump and bracket would move out of the way.
