hi im new to the forum and to the puma and i was woundering how to
adjust the hand brake up a couple of notches my cars a w reg 1.4 16v puma thanks all

lift up the handbrake gaitor and you will see a nut on the handbrake cable. You can adjust that nut to tighten the cable a touch.

all tho this is not the correct way to do it!

you need to slacken the cable by undoing said nut under the hand brake gator

remove the rear drums and adjust the adjusters both sides (apply the foot brake to center the shoes in the drums between adjustments) untill when the drums are refitted they just catch the shoes then then take the slack up in the cable wile spinning the drums to make sure you have not over adjusted them

the amount of cars i have seen come in that have been adjusted just by the cable is shocking! bad practices IMO!

just tighten the adjuster nut that always works for me keep it simple
