Mondeo Mk3 rear spring question
Hope you can help, my 2003, 2 litre petrol mondeo has a duff rear shock and to aviod the spring removal I have purchased a used strut on ebay. Before buying I checked with the seller that the shock part number was the same as the one on the car. The photo of the part on the ebay site showed the strut with a green green red dot coded spring and this was the same as the one on the car and the compatability list checked out as suitable.
The seller supplied a strut but it was fitted with a spring marked green green green. When I asked why he had supplied a different one to that shown on Ebay he said I was being anal and that the spring were exactly the same and that they knew what spring codes were suitable.
Am I being anal? Is it fine to fit the strut or do I return it?
The seller has now reduced the price but this is the same as the listing I purchased from.

Thanks Glenn,
Yes I just fitted it. It seems fine and a lot better than having no damping. Much heat was required on the shock around the pinch bolt and I compressed the spring (to shorten the overall length) both on removal and on refitting the strut. A lot easier job than I'd been led to believe by my local MOT guy. Did the drop links at the same time.
