anyone changed alternator from mk3 mondy tdci??
as title, my ones packed up so got another one and gunna do it at the weekend, ive herd there an easy job?
if any ones done one any tips or advise??

It is straight forward as long as you have the special tool required for the auxillary belt tensioner. Its not so simple without it.
The tensioner has two 1/2" holes in it in which the special tool fits. The tool is sort of y shaped so you can lever the tensioner back to get the belt on.

yea i can see it clearly from the wheel arch, so thats a good starting point, im jus not looking forward to this belt as it seems to be a pain in the arse

i was goin to pay someone to do the alternator as i cant be bothered, but ppl are on hol or way to busy and i cant really wait as i have no car

if it was petrol i'd explain with pics as i've got one apart but the diseasal ones seem to be much more different

Looking at the bottom pulley, the tensioner is just above to the left. You can't loosen it as such as it is spring loaded. I have some pics from when i did mine, i can try posting them if it would be of any help?
