How many turns of a wheel brace
I've just put my wheels back on.
18" but because I've done a Brembo mod the wheel needed a 5 mm spacer to clear the caliper.
The question is the wheel brace turns 3 x 360 deg.
This doesn't seem a lot to keep the wheel on.
It's also my track car.
What is the guide line.
I am going to put a standard nut on to check.
The nuts I am using are the long thinner type.
the car is a ST24.
It is the front wheel.
Thankyou.

Well it's longer stud time ,a normal nut must have turned about ten times before it reached the top of it.
I actualy thought the studs were part of the rs 300mm disc but there not so a easy fix.

you cant fix stupid
i asked a while back on how far a nut should be on to be safe. i was told the engineers rule is 1.5 times the thickness of the stud. so for example the stud is 10mm thick you want 15mm of nut on thread of bolt.

Not entirely sane
BS3692 states the thickness for a M12 x 1.25 nut is 10 mm so they are basing this on a minimum of 8 full threads engaged. Three turns will not be sufficient. Your studs need to be about 9 mm longer than they are now.

Brilliant return.
I have ordered 20mm extra than standard.
I will put a 10mm spacer on and have a bit extra.
the rears have 20mm spacer kit on so.
Thankyou again.
