Default Gonna be looking into a 2006 mondeo tdci soon. Anything to look out for?

As above gonna be looking into getting a bigger car and was looking at a 2006 mondeo ghia x tdci estate. The car has done 131K and recently serviced by ford at 128K. Is there anything to look out for on these? Would they have those fookin duel mass flywheel shite? If so when would they need to be replaced?

Unless it has recently had a set of injectors, a pump and a clutch / flywheel, walk away, wouldn't touch with a bargepole!

Agree with the above, the last of the mk3 Mondeos were better than the earlier ones but they can still be 'expensive' when they go wrong.

They are a cracking car, until they go wrong

If you like the car, buy it, but keep a grand spare for a rainy day would be my best advice.

well I bought my 2007 mondeo st tdci in 2010 with 47k on the clock, it now has done 95K and it's needed usual servicing, tyres, brakes etc and an egr valve.

Not to bad is it really??
been a great car for me.

Had two, covered 50,000 miles in them and other than a set of wheel bearings, and the usual service items both were faultless.. But as soon as the engine started to change how it started I sold em.. Only way

I bought my 2006 edge 115 tdci a year ago with 91000 on the clock have had to do dual mass fly wheel and clutch, and a new egr valve other than that it's been a cracking motor. I understand some are dogs but that usually down to poor servicing, and not replacing worn parts. I have to say my one is great and will be with me for years to come, but again it was very well maintained by the previous owner ie full service history receipts for all work done.
