Focus 1.6 2006 - MPG Advice
Hi all
I have purchased Focus 1.6 Petrol Ti-VCT 2006 (Ghia) last week. I was not lucky with previous Focus TDCI's as had either Injectors or DPF issues so decided to try Petrol.
Manufacturer's manual shows MPG as 44 combined and I do understand it's an old car however the computer on dash shows MPG as 34 and in reality the car is only giving around 35MPG combined I'm not a racer and drive on motorway's most of the time. I have checked tyre pressure, low luggage, changed the air filter and cleaned MAF sensor, made slight difference
Is this normal mpg with these models and can I try anything else to improve the miles per gallon.
Please advise

The manufacturer's figures are often not real world figures. They probably used a rolling road for half of those tests and exaggerated on the results, and with them being fresh off the factory floor helped them with those figures I imagine.
Keeping up with the routine servicing and maintenance will help with getting the most value out of the car.
