Default 17s or 18s on mk2 focus tdci?

Been looking for a set of ST wheels for my mk2 focus but can't find any for sale so I'm looking at other wheels now, am I better off looking at 17s or 18s or do they not make much difference to the ride and handling on these? May buy a new set if I can't find anything that takes my fancy so would like advice on size really. Will be putting some 35/40mm springs on at the same time

17s might be a bit small in the big focus arches so I would go 18s with eibach springs. Will be firmer but not too uncomfortable.
