Default Window motor and relay?

Hi, I think I need a new window motor/relay for my 53 reg 3 door ST170. I'm loathe to pay full dealer prices and was wondering if these parts are different for each spec of car. For instance is it the same part from say a 1.6 or diesel as used in the ST170?

Thanks

There is a few different variations, took my dealer 3 attempts to get the right one when I needed one a few years ago!

Darn! I suppose I'm not in too much of a hurry so will have to wait for a ST170 one to come up on the 'bay.

Not just st170 specific, depends on if it's got auto up and or down, global closing, 3 or 5 door etc. Just looked on etis website and there are 8 different part numbers for them so you might need to have a look and get some numbers off of your one!

Are you sure that the problem is the motor/relay?

I've just had a problem with my offside rear window on a 54 reg Focus 2.0 16V Ghia, the window came down but then was jammed down with motor not driving the regulator up or down. Removed the regulator and the problem was with the plastic window clip breaking up and the top Bowden cable coming free and jamming around the winding drum.

Approached Ford Spares who said I could not buy the individual bits, only complete regulator at £235+vat! No thanks!

However, went on Ebay and was able to buy new window clip for £4.30 from one vendor and new Bowden Cables c/w winder drum @ £5.60 from another.

So the upshot is that for less than a tenner I managed to repair as new. Hopefully it may turn out the same for you.

Well, I managed to get it working. Took the door panel off, gave the motor a bit of a tap and sprayed the mechanism with a liberal amount of WD40. Result is it's now working.
