Focus ST 2014 Engine/Boost problems
Hi all,
I have a 1 year old Focus ST2 and until a month ago it was awesome.
Since then I noticed the boost starting to become a little erratic, spiking then dropping off completely.
My engine warning light came on around this time so I took it down to the service centre.
Service was great and they've obviously plugged it in before handing it back to me saying they'd reset it and it was just a map problem- nothing major as it due for its service next month.
Since then, every day it's getting worse. Almost impossible to drive. The boost seems to kick in randomly, even at low revs and speed and often my revs are going up but I'm not accelerating at all.
Obviously I'm going to book it in for its service asap but any ideas?
I'm also living in dubai and its 45+ degrees, could the extreme heat be adding to any problems?
Can I trust the service guys to go into every detail or should I try and explain the problems or have them test drive it with me?
Sorry for the long message but I'm clearly no engine expert and it seems like my baby is dying.

45 degrees - blimey don't envy you!
As for the car problem, just let the garage sort it, it is under warranty so shouldn't give you issues. Sounds like it could be a boost control solenoid or a vacuum problem. Just give them all the symptoms and take them out for a run to show what is happening.

Thanks for the comments and advice RichieSt and oldford, much appreciated.
I can't get it in for service for another week - if it was a boost control or vacuum problem, would I be doing any damage to the engine in the meantime by using it?
