hydro st170

Hi I have a 2003 focus st170.This only happens a couple of times but when im driving and put my clutch in the battery light will come on but then will go back of.Is this a sign of a new battery needed or a more expensive alternator.

Has it got the right battery fitted? Should be a silver calcium. If it's a normal lead acid it will cause the smart charge system to throw a shit fit. Are the revs dropping really low when you clutch in?

No the reves dont drop if clutch is in but on start up my reves go up and reves funny for a while as if something is a bit sticky.
