I just did mine at the w/e albeit on a 2.0 and not a 170 , i never disconnected the handbrake cable , just chocked the front wheel and released the handbrake from inside , the carrier bolts are on there pretty good (loctited) i managed to round one , so gonna order new ones and replace them. As for the caliper , i used a Draper ABS rewind tool which worked great but i've heard of folk having trouble with the rears.

Hope all goes ok for you fella

Pretty straight forward job TBH.

Both pistons spin in clockwise, Make sure you alinge the tit on the pads with the groves on the piston.

If you havent got a wind in tool then use a G-Clamp or pointy nose pliers .. Once you break the initial stickyness the pistons should spin straight in ..

Good luck!

job done!
changed rear disks and pads at the weekend. job went well.
came off easily and the caliper piston behind the brake pads i was worried about wound in fine!
i took my car to a local garage last month after a brake warning light eluminated, thay said not to worry evrything seems ok it must a fault on the instrument cluster, a common problem with the focus.
this light has since gone off after i changed the disks and pads.
wont be going there again!!
