Best Place To Buy ST170 Lambda Sensors ?
Hi all ive got 2x lambda faults on my car bank 1 sensor 1 and bank 2 sensor 2 as the cars been run with the imrc not working it would of been running ritch so ive been shopping about to get the best price for the lambdas my local ford dealer wanted
£85.56 Front
£78.43 Rear
so after having a quick look online
ive found some genuine bosch ones at
£49.78 Front
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT
£56.89 Rear
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT
So its already down a fair bit
Pair From Ford £163.99
Pair Of Genuine Bosch £106.67 + p&p £5.90
So £112.57 To My Door so £51.42 cheaper sounds good
Just wonderd if its worth removeing the old ones and cleaning them before i buy new ones im not well up on lambda sensors but have been told to avoid the cheap universal ones where you cut your own plug off and refit them a few times .
ive read a few times the st170 lambdas are prone to going faulty anyone got any better ideas is it worth cleaning them first ?
Cheers mark

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!

The ST170 is riddled with common problems and Lambda fail is one of them. I am always of the mind set that if i need to change a sensor, or when servicing my ST170 i only buy the best and usually from ford. Nothing wrong with the Bosch Lambda but i would not hunt for a cheaper alternative.
The joy will be trying to remove the old ones. You will most probably need allot of heat, so taking one out will most probably destroy it so not worth cleaning it. If your IMCR has not been sorted do that first

Well id already checked all the wireing and tested the lambdas with a multimeter and everything came back ok apart from the lambdas so i bought 2x nkt lambdas ended up costing me £50.60 each from a local shop i use direct fit £101.20 for the pair i fitted them and ive got no eml lit up now and no faults stored took the car for a bit of a drive for about half hour no faults stored so its looking promising the part numbers was
NGK 0ZA488-D2 (Front) £50.60 inc vat
NGK 0ZA381-D3 (Rear) £50.60 inc vat
thought id update this as it may help someone one day
