Default ET35 offset

As above i know this isnt the correct offset for the focus[ think thats et37/38].
I am just wondering if wheels with ET35 would still fit?

So how would we go about it?
How far are they going to stick out and what complications?

It's for my Gf's car and everyone she's asked has just advised her not to do it.

Just bolt them straight on if 35 is your offset and 37/38 in normal for your car then your only looking at a 3mm difference
