dump valve help!!!!!
hi all i have red some of the old posts about dump valves and was thinking i have 2 dump valves in my shed one is a bailey off a fiat punto gt turbo and one other thats off a sierra cosworth!! would one of these dump valves work on my focus rs as i have all the fitting kit just thought i may be able to save a few pounds useing one of these! i dont want to put on the fitting kit and not have a dump valve to go on cause that will just cause hassle and will be a waste of time any ideas or answers would be great

Don't see any reason why you shouldn't use one of your old DV's.
Focus RS is one of the cars that DOES require a DV or recirc valve to prevent damage to the turbo

I could be wrong but I thought that you could only fit the Bailey dv26 to a focus rs!
The hose that goes onto the top of the dump valve is the same one as goes onto the top of the OE recirc dump valve. Just take off the OE valve and blank that off and attach the hose from the top onto your dump valve. I think that is right from memory!
If you get it to work you will find that the car runs rich for 200-300 miles whilst the ecu sorts itself out. After that it settles down (well mine did!).
Good luck

Right, if you have dissconnected the hoses to the re-circ valve, keep the dump valve on. As the RS needs summit to release pressure...
Now dissconnect ur battery and leave for 5 mins, reconnect and drive car for a few miles until ECU has woken up again...
I h8 the Bailey DV, nothing but trouble, although some RS's don't suffer from the same problems.
DV 30 is the way to go, chatter isn't as great as a Cosworth, but its there and nice.
Has ur car got a Bluefin??? This will regulate the boost and keep an eye on it, best buy for the RS me thinks...
