Default Idle problem Focus RS mk1

Hello, once and a while when i start my rs it doesn't idle right or it cuts out.Solutions?

ICV, its a pig of a job as its very difficult to access most people take the inlet off as its easier

Try this first - buy a can of carb cleaner and take of the throttle housing and top boost hose off. Carefully with a wipe clean out as best you can all the carbon (make sure to be extra delicate with the throttle flap). Then spray a liberal amount down down into the inlet and spray and coat everything inside. Leave for an hour or so and then start it up, might be a bit of white smoke as it burns all the carb cleaner off.

Worked for me and all for about a £5

Thanks for the info...Is it possible to tell me the exact location of the ICV?If you can a pic?I want to change it myself.

I had the same symptoms. ...was worse when less thank half a tank.
My fuel pump was on the way out. (a common fault)
A dw65 later and she starts on the button every time. regardless of fuel level.

had the same problem with mine and tried the carb cleaner worked a treat
