Default Focus Rs mk1 Steering wheel quality?

hey people.

i bought a factory brand new steering wheel for my focus, from this dude on ebay.
and the reason im writing this is not because i want to talk shit about that dude..its more because of the shitty quality on the actually brand new steering wheel.

I mounted the new steering wheel in may this year..and i have driven like 3000miles,,,and for the record...always took good care of the steering wheel...cause i did not want the steering wheel to wear out fast since i kinda new how the old one looked like.did not wear gloves though i actually wondered about doing so."laughs"

but have been quite surprised to find out that the quality is shit pooor...done 3000miles..and the steering wheel show clear sign of wear and discoloring..and the "leather" or whatever you want to call it..starts to disintegrate like the old one..like its getting smudged ,,or "melted"...

does anyone have any opinion on this...maybe someone knows if ford struggled with this when the mk1 RS were brand new...i figure it must have been a warranty thingy...

replies and and all that good stuff wanted please

This is why I put a std black wheel on mine, the blue wheel is crap just like the interior.

My car is the same but it never put me off buying it. Not sure to bother trimming mine or leaving it

I remember fitting a few new steering wheels on Focus in warranty for the rim going all 'sticky' was fairly common.
