Default Ford focus mk1

My mate is looking at a new engine for his mk1 focus it's a 1.4 at the minuet he's looking the 1.7 puma engine would it fit Easily

Why does he not go for a 2ltr zetec.


The puma engine will propely fit.

I'd thought the 2ltr would require more work as its a different engine isn't it?

Correct, Glenn they are totally different engines.

Your mate currently has a 'Sigma' engine or Zetec SE, this has nothing in common with a Zetec-E, the exhaust and inlet manifold oppose each other, plus it's heavier, thus suspension is different etc.

There has been a whole list before, but suffice to say there are several differences between the engines.

The 1.7 Puma engine is just a larger capacity engine than he already has, therefore it will fit as far as I am aware without any mods.

Yeah that's what i thought so I'd suggested to him the puma so it would just bolt in place thanks for the help
