Default Buying frs mk1

Hi I should hopefuly be getting a 2003 focus rs next week. What areas should I be checking when looking round the car? What are the common problems with these cars? I know the charge cooler pumps can cause problems but don't know of any other problems they suffer from

Thanks Billy

There's a buyers guide on the RSOC forum in the frs mk1 section

Sorry not been on much lately, been driving too much lol I absolutely love it!
Had a couple little things to sort out. It was only running 0.7 bar when i picked it up. The chargecooler pump was knackered and there was a breather pipe split on back of the inlet. Once they were fixed it boosted correctly and I was very impressed with it. I never had a car newer than K reg lol so it was a bit different to driving round in the cossie for the last 6 yrs. I was going to modify it but I am so pleased with it the way it is I think I'll just leave it.

I'm looking at buying a mk1 RS, went to see one today and checked the charge cooler and there was no jet of water. How serious is this? Iv heard its an easy fix but also that it can damage the car if its not been working for awhile
