Focus speed governor???....
hello all, im new here so a big HELLO!!!!
I recently purchased another Focus, 1 owner and a parra import...
...from Belgium. Its a stunning car but goes only to 108mph and 4.5k rpm???? is there importantly something wrong with it or does anybody know if all the European Fords had a speed govenor as well as the American market?

108 mph? Fast enough surely?
Well, my European Focus (uk) doesn't have a speed limiter, but thats not to say yours hasn't!
Rev's through the range any other gear though?

1st and 2nd rev through the range perfectly, very well indeed. 3rd is fine until 77-80mph then really struggles to 90mph, change up to 4th and it complains like a bitch upto a low 4.5k rpm = 105 - 108mph (give or take). Then thats it. Nothing more in 4th or 5th. My other Zetec has far supassed them speeds on track events a long time ago.
Ive given the EURO Focus a full service and its running a hell of a lot better, no more splutters at normal road speed anyway, but still no joy with top end. Im thinking rolling road at thriplow (revivals). Techy Richard said egrs are commen failures and cause running, power and hesitation problems. I suggested coil pack, he said i would have splutters everywhere not just at 60-70mph road speeds.
Anybody have any ideas? Ive looked at everything i can, i know most my way round the Focus. Its more important to me knowing the engine is in good shape, not just power, top speed, blah blah blah. If theres a little problem id rather get it sorted before it may turn into something bigger.
