Default Central Locking help 1999 Focus

Hi,have signed up for help as i'm stuck trying to cure my CL problems

Symptons are:

CL does not work, drivers lock with key does not work, passenger lock with key works ok.
Unplug CL control unit for an hour and CL works fine, drivers lock key works fine.
Next day symptons start to kick in again.
Take out battery in key fob/clean terminals all works fine again, next day symptons come back.
Tried replacing battery in key fob, same results.

(Alternater/speedo sensor playing up aswell but dont think this will afferct CL?)

Thanks

morning matey
I have the same problem with the CL on my Mondeo, I was told it is the locking motor that is faulty, I must admit I have not tried disconnecting the system and reconnecting , where will I find this on a Mondeo. I do not posses a manual, hope you have an answer soon all the best

Alternator and speedo as you say should not effect it but if the battery is low because of the former this can cause strange problems such as a "Dial sweep" when ignition is switched on.

yes battery warning light comes on now and again, alternaor makes a strange noise on turning ignition so maybe low battery due to alternator is causing CL/speedo problems rather than the speedo sensor

rammer, the CL module id in the drivers footwell on my focus, under yhe dash to the right.just unplug the leads
