Think it's time to get a rs focus
Had escort turbo for years.
looking at getting a mk1 focus RS i was wondering what advice people have on buying one, price range £9000 - £11000. Standard or modified.

had mine 5 months and all is well, subtle mods now running 270 brake.
would you use it as a daily or store it.
ive decided to store mine and ive bought an old mk2 mondy as a runabout as the focus was collecting stone chips and sml dinks due to toss bags in tesco car parks.
panels for these mk1's are ridiculously expensive.
for the price you want to pay youd get a modded low milage example.quite a few to choose from, just go on rsoc.

DO IT!!!
I'd had my series 2 rst for 7 years and bought a mk1 frs last summer and absolutely love it!!
Although there are things i miss about my rst (was 260 odd bhp so quicker than my focus at the moment), the old school feel and presence and as it was a track car doing track days, the focus is far better in every other way and it hasn't missed a beat in 6k.
I paid just over 10k for mine with 40k on the clock and all the basic mods done, which i'd recommend if you're going to mod anyway as the basic parts are quite expensive (exhaust/decat/air filter/map/manifold etc).
Plenty to choose from so go and have a look at a few to get an idea of what ou can get for the money.......there are some around for 7k odd but they're unlikely to be minters

Do it, I picked mine up for just over 8 with a part exchange. Came with fully doc history a 2nd history the owner kept with every little detail he changed or replaced. They are out there but you really need to act quick as there price is already rising. I originally looked at the mk2 but wanted something that is soon to be a classic, and with the spec of mine I seen off a mk2 RS white on a 09 plate, from 30 to 145. The look on the lads face was the opposite to mine. Don't think I will ever sell RS 02 MAD but I will be scratching the mk2 itch when they drop in price. Also make sure you get a scanguage there €149 or on ebay, I now have 4 gauges, boost (psi), Voltage, inlet temp and most important coolant temp. With calibration also shows fuel trip and 0-60, quarter mile an standing mile. So as I say do it fella.

you'll get a very good one for that money.!
I paid 9k for mine, totally standard and had 45k on the clock 8 months ago.
come with a load of spare bits too.
Go look at a few of them before you buy one... they dont sell that quick
so dont worry too much..

Brilliant cars, loved mine. Interior is pretty crap and the seats aren't that supportive but the handling and speed it can drag you out of a corner are incredible. Mine was running a tad over 270 and happily stayed with an E46 M3 from 40 to over 140.
