frozen door lock
hi yall
have a problem on my mk1.5 ford focus 4 door drivers door lock freezes in cold weather
the door will open but then the actual lock itself will not return to the first position even under hand pressure
results in a dangerous door open poition or a no car use day as the car warms up or the ice thaws perfect door lock again
have resorted to climbing in passenger side not ideal
have spoke to lots of other mk1 focus drivers same problem same lock drivers side
wonder if anyone can shed some light on this common problem
thanks in anticipation ibiza

I would firstly drench the lock out completely with lock de icer, this will stop the key part freezing in the first place, if this doesn't resolve the whole issues then it's likely the linkage/s are binding most likely due to the lubricant on the rods or lock internals getting more solid with the low temp.
