Default Thermo housing leaking

mk1 focus rs, ive read its a common fault whats best to replace it with? or am i best to going to ford and getting anther standard one? ino theres an exspensive one on pumaspeed site, but my car isnt a fire breathing 500bhp animal, its just standard? any one recommend anything?

Get yaself on the RSBB and look for a guy called Womble he makes them for Pumaspeed so sells them far cheaper.... The only other alternative is a Ford 1.

Are these alloy versions over the standard plastic one ?

The plastic 1's crack thus causing a leak (there have been several people who are on their 3rd plastic housing).... The alloy 1's arn't much more £££ and last a lifetime and are a direct replacement.

they go because there the weak link in the cooling system.excess pressure in the cooling system usually caused by the header tank cap not functioning right,get a stant pressure cap and std ford one.or go for a womble one,if he has any made as he makes batches of them,but there pricey
