Default ST170 front disks & pads, how much?

As posted elswhere have juddering under braking and have narrowed it down to the front disks being warped. Have lived with it for a while but with the snow how it is might as well get it done...

Lad working at a ford garage says just over 200 pound for standard st170 front disks and pads fitted.

This seem right?

get some drilled and grooved discs on it from ebay, you can buy a full set for about 160 with the red stuff pads. i have them on mine and they are fine

As above, good advice, dont bother with green stuff pads, they produce ALLOT of dust, red stuff pads produce hardly any and once warm are really good. ST170's do have a tendancy to warp front disks

Do you sit in traffic with your foot on the brake? That will warp discs in no time.

Be vert wary of Ebay as some sellers are not selling latest grades of material make sure you get the latest if you after redstuff it needs to be see below for latest material codes also we do offer members a discount on here and would think cheaper than any EBC on Ebay....

Redstuff fast street (not a race or trackday pad ) – . For all sizes and weights of car.
Latest compound code shows AF88/26 on box end (base code E 388) and is street legal to ECE R90 regulations. This is the latest compound of the Red family for fast street use with reduced (and easy to wash off dust) but not really for track use

Yellowstuff fast street and trackday - code AF93/94 on box end (base code DM 1793) Street legal to ECE R 90 regulations. Just starting to come through Surface Scorched now which means these bed in FAST.(EBC toast the surface in a special infra red tunnel to take away the bed in fade and loss of track time bedding in new pads for you)

If you buy a set and it doesnt say PRE BEDDED on the box end label, take 300-400 miles steady highway driving then start to hit them harder for 15 – 20 stops from 60 to 10-15 mph until you get them really hot and then let them cool overnight. DONT track them out of the box unless the box end label says PRE BEDDED OK ????. This is your fast street and occasional trackday pad. For all sizes and weights of car.

hope this helps
