Getting the best from your mods, will depend which base map is on the car really. The early cars were loaded with the AE map (Aggressive power, No Cough) and the later ones the AF map (Car coughs at 4500 rpm which is an extreme lean spot in the map). With those mods, and with AE, I'd expect the car to be running around 265-270 brake.

Power wise, once my controller is fitted (Car is SORN'd ATM) i should be knocking on the door of 335 brake at 22psi I reckon.
If your gonna get a Manifold, then either go for Primary Designs, GGR or JEK.
Blueflame are naff and so are Nortech.

A Manifold is brilliant for torque increase. Really feel the difference.

The FRS is an awesome car to drive.
The Miltek Manifold was never endorsed by Miltek themselves mate. They never fabricated one to sell, and is sold by Pumaspeed as a Miltek.
It has had constant cracking issues, which lead to expensive welding to repair. I'd steer clear of those matey.

Rob has loads of customers with sorted FRS's (like me) and could happily get you out in one if you need convincing.
Not mine though coz its off the road til March lol.

AE is the generic base map installed by Ford. I don't know what it means but its the one you need to have. I had AF on my car and travelled up North to have AE put on it, as it was *Coughing* at 4500 rpm with the AF map. Now it cured it and it drives alot more harder.

As for the Manifold. My mate is breaking his FRS to sell and has a near enough brand new (1000 miles old) Blueflame Manifold for sale for around Ł600.
Its advertised on the RSOC mate.

unless your only going for a hybrid gt25. i'd wait and get a mani and a turbo at the same time. coz you'll have to by another manifold if you want a gt28 or 30.

The lad 1-PD is a lad called Steve. He's advertised the manifold for my mate Nath, as Nath isn't a member of PF.
Thats the one I was telling you about.

As for needing a different 'Fold if you buy a '28 thats a little misleading. See, I had my FMS fitted by TOTD a year before I went to SCC to have my GT28 fitted. It fitted like a glove and was not advised that I needed to change it.

But you will need a Boost Controller if you buy the GT28.
Don't forget that, coz they are expensive.

Plus, you'll also need a GT28 De-Cat pipe, which is lots too. There is no Sports Cat for the '28 either so you have to De-Cat.

But for definate answers to your questions, speak to Rob.

Nice & misleading & not correct at all

You'll need a new decat or sports cat specific to the gt28 or GT30, but gt28 & gt30 bolts straight onto the aftermarket manifolds - i should know as i have a GT28 bolted onto my PD manifold and before i fitted the 28 i was running the standard GT25 attached to the PD - another FRS owner i know with a GT30, well that bolts straight onto the same type of PD manifold as i have with no mods required

As Alex and I have said. Having a GT28 will make no difference on manifold choice.

As for Blueflame Manifolds, they run too close to the Boost Hose & Slam Panel and causes some extreme heat build up.
Worth avoiding IMO. My mate has one and its melted his slam panel, coz its too close.

I Might be selling my Original FMS Manifold soon all wrapped and ready to go straight onto the car.
Would be looking for around Ł420 as a COPY of this is available for Ł500+

My Blueflame manifold is near 3" away from my boost hose, it could be the make of hose or else the way he has it fitted if its close. Its close enough to the slam panel agreed though mine is ok so fair. I had my car live mapped and for some reason the manifold doesn't get as hot as it did, it goes orange on the rollers where as on my last map it went purple.

Don't think i would go the GT28 route. IMO you would be better with a hybrid.

In a Nutshell then.............

Hybrid Turbo - Is exactly the same size as the standard GT25 Turbo in your car. Most have GT28 Internals so are capable of providing good power returns. No adaptions are needed for a Hybrid, so your CAT will fit it come MOT time.
However, they spool up very quickly and give you a massive shunt at low revs which can cause the car to feel unstable and skittish. Hybrid's are typically run direct off the Actuator but over time the spring will wear and boost will drop slightly, meaning adjustments.
Price wise - Somewhere around Ł700.

GT28 Turbo - Is simply a bigger all round Turbo Unit. It has strong internals and provides massive power, but brings with it slight Turbo Lag, which is lovely coz the Torque will drag you along until BANG, it comes on boost. Alex's car has one of these and is pushing 416bhp @ the Fly.
A Hybrid will NEVER reach that kind of horsepower coz its not strong enough.
GT28's need a specific De-Cat to pair it with the manifold & Exhaust.
There is NO CAT for this turbo. You have to De-Cat.
GT28 needs a Boost Controller to operate the best from it.

If you want big power (over 380 bhp) then GT28 is the one to have.
Price Wise (Via SCC) - Ł1895 Turbo fitted and Ł500 Blitz boost Controller.

Choice is yours.

Dude your a 'college of knowledge' fella....cheers for another small education on the FRS .....but so far the best thing i have found out is reliability of these cars and the tunin potetial

Gra, has a Hybrid ever seen 400 brake? I don't think it has mate, hence my comment. If i'm talking shiite though then by all means correct me .

I just simply prefer the power delivery with my Turbo. Hybrid makes the car a little unstable for my liking.

Fillers car made 389bhp on hybrid without a custom map... so a hybrid will do 400bhp IMO
