Focus 1.8i 16v Decat
Has anyone, or know anyone that has decatted there 1.8i 16v Focus?
Mine is a mk1 1999 model, cant find a de-cat pipe out there for it
I know it will need a mil eliminator for engine management warning, but has anyone done this, recommend anything?
Thanks

de catted my 1.8 wen i had it. i made my own decat pipe from the old exhaust that was replaced with a piper cat back exhaust. was then fitted to my 2.0 which funny enough was takin off last nite and nw sittin doin nothin. sounds alrite, bit tinny for my likin and made no increase in power. brought the MIL light on which made the car run rough and carryin petrol to the beast was a nightmare. search ebay for obx 4-1 manifold for focus. it has a de-cat pipe as well as a free flowin top exhaust header! worth the money too.

Just got a cleaned out cat off ebay to trial.
Got a cat back exhaust system fitted, and its way too quiet, can only think its the cat causing it.
Looked everywhere for something for it, the odd decat pipe ive seen would probably crack after 5 miles.
Mate had the obx system for his 1.8 Focus, but cant find that either, and he bought his with it on already.
Gonna see how the decat pipe sounds, and if its any good ill get the mil eliminator plug for it

I've got a fullsized 4-2-1 manifold though. You can buy decat pipes though I'm not sure where from, any exhaust place should be able to make you one easily enough though!
You won't need a MIL eliminator/O2 cheater as yours is a pre-facelift which only has 1 lambda sensor. If you buy a decat pipe and it's got a second hole you'll either need to plug it with a suitable bolt or do what I did and get a lambda sensor from a scrappy and screw that in there (cut the cable off it so it's worthless and you'll get it dirt cheap). If you get one made obviously this won't be an issue

Cheers Dave!
Those vids reflect exactly how i want mine to sound, yet its no where near that
Should think it would be with a full stainless cat back exhaust system made by blueflame The gases seem too retricted coming out the back, can only think its due to the cat
Will see how this gutted out cat sounds, cant find any others, looked about everywhere
Need to check what sensor it is, although ill prob find out when the decat is on if it needs a mil eliminator
