can anyone tell me what it is what it does and what happens if its broke

If it breaks your speedo will drop to zero and car will cut out.

ah think it might be that then
the speedo sometimes doesnt work when i turn the car on and drive down the road but if after about 5 miles i stop turn the car off and then back on it works
how much do new ones cost?
