Also does the later spec engine map do much?

the later spec seats have a row of stitching across the seat where you sometimes find the sagging on the originals. you cant really miss it when you see it!

the engine maps were changed a couple of time by ford re-flashing the ECU to cure minor problems. no extra power from them though im afraid.
apparently there was also a map for the irish FRS to allow it to run on lower grade fuel.

Heres the best pic i can find of my original unstitched type seat bases - hopefully somebody else will be able to post a pic of the stitched type for comparison

how can i tell that that is a later spec seat?

That is the updated or stitched seat base there - there isnt generally a mk1 or mk2 seat just strictly speaking some owners had the unstitched seats fixed by Ford in the first year of warranty if the leather started sagging.

On saying that though mien have never been stitched and are still in very good condition.

Engine map wise the AF (later) map is generally a more refined map although if bluefinning the car shouldnt make much difference tbh
