RS brembos vs ST 300mm disc on a 1.6 hub?
Hi there this is my first post here so hello yall.
Just a quick one hopefully lol can some tell me if its possible to fit the RS brembo calipers into 16" wheels and can they be used with a set of 300 ST discs? and on top of all that will the calipers work with 1.6 hubs if I use a bespoke mounting bracket? I think the disc is also thicker on the mounting plate so it will affect my offset by about 3 mm each side I think. But I dont think this will be enough to affect the handling. I figure I should be able to get the discs and pads for like £200 tops and calipers for around £250 2nd hand. Any advice for a decent sized upgrade for under £450 should be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Neither ST or RS calipers can be fitted with the standard 1.4/1.6/1.8/2.0 hubs as they use an integral pad carrier that limits the disc size
To fit RS or ST brake set ups you need to get the relevant hubs and with the RS ones you may need different drive shafts, though I cant be certain of that.
For less than £450 personally I would ring round a few scrappies and pick up the full ST front brake set up. You'll need the hubs, discs, calipers and pads but after that it all bolts straight on Also you should probably have enough change from your £450 to get braided lines and at least a new set of pads if needed.
I've been running the ST setup on mine for sometime now and would definitely recomend it, I've never struggled to stop even after a full day on track
