Rear tyre oddity?
Hi all,
My FRST runs on Avon ZZ3's and a mate of mine runs on Goodyear Eagles and we've both experienced the same odd tread wear on the rears. While the outside edge and centre are fine the inner shoulder wears out a lot quicker and in blocks (as opposed to even wear around the tyre). Any ideas as to why this is? His has done less than 30k whereas mine is getting on for 60k now so I'm guessing that it's not down to suspension or bearing wear? I'd like to get this sorted before I splash out on some Yokohama Paradas.
Cheers

I think this is meant to be mate. When Ford set up the FRS suspension they did it with negative camber to aid in better cornering and better handling.
My FRS tyres wear more on the inside aswell, only thing I can suggest is to change them over with the fronts about half wear.
Go back to the Ford sales pamphlet or early write ups on the car and read up about the negative camber suspension set up.
Hope this helps you
