TDCI possible belt noise
the engine is the 1.8 tdci mk1 focus. My problem started with a squeel in cold weather which lasted about 10 mins until the engine warmed up.
Anyway, the noise then stopped but has changed to more of a ticking noise (like a blip of a squeel if this makes sense. The noise changes with the revs of the engine.
I am in the process of getting the cambelt and serp belt done but dont want to get it dont and this still make noise.
My concern is that the noise does seem to stop for the most part when the heated screens are put on.
Any ideas guys?

It's probably a worn aux belt. Your mechanic should check the condition of all the pulleys while he's got it in bits. What you can do for a test is get some water in a spray bottle, run the engine and spray some water on the inside of the belt. If the squeaking temporarily stops or changes in sound then you know it's definitely the belt.
