Default 2004 Focus Handbrake light

I have recently bought a 2004 TDCI Focus as a work horse, I have only noticed today that the handbrake light stays on very dimly lit when the hand brake is released?

Anyone got any ideas as to why?

There may be a short caused by wet or damp in the connector that plugs onto the brake fluid reservoir. When the brakes were bled on mine I used some hot water to wash around the reservoir after topping it up and my handbrake light glowed dimly for a few days, so dimly I couldn't even see it during the day ! It was fine after a squirt of water dispersant and a few more days.

Think it must of been damp related as it's been fine today

Theres a common fault in the clusters for this model.
Mine did it along with the abs light, on damp mornings, it would be on constantly, summer time it was fine.
I put another cluster in over the winter to prove and it was fine, but as the mileage is stored in the cluster, not the ecu, the mileage for my car showed 100k more than it had done so i removed the abs led and live the the handbrake light on!
