Hi All,
Looks like i'm in for an expensive time. Focus won't start all of a sudden. Checked fuel filter housing found to be only half full of diesel also found some swarf (sh*t). Primed fuel filter with hand pump and car ran for a few secs then died. Rechecked fuel in filter housing again half empty. I believe pump broken up sending swarf all around system, injectors,fuel tank ,rail pipes etc Replaced glow plugs, fuel filter few weeks ago as lumpy starting when cold but have had no problems in the past. Can the pump just stop pumping or would it be a gradual death? how much to repair 1.5-2k ?

I suppose the pump could just give up but sometimes they begin to break up and the tiny particles of debris gets fired through the injectors at silly pressure so its bye bye injectors as well !

I don't know how much it all costs to buy but a lad over on Focus owners had to have the pump and injectors replaced and it cost him a shade over £2000 and that was the result of the car being miss fuelled !
