TDCI project.
Hi Everyone,
Just had a bit of an idea i've been thinking quite a lot a about recently. I've had a couple of ridiculous cars over the years i've been driving but i'm just about sick of all this fuel my 325i is using, so i'm thinking of going back to diesel.
Anyways, getting back to the point, I have a bit of free time, and a really good shell for my idea (2006 Focus Estate w/ ST bits) The engine is a bit noisy though, has clearly been thrashed and just doesn't run quite right. Im thinking of maybe swapping out the 2.0 TDCI and fitting in its place the 2.2 TDCI from the Mondeo. Then I would like to try and mate that to a 6speed Powershift Auto box from a new Focus 2.0 TDCI. Im guessing that mechanically this shouldnt be too bad since the 2.0 and 2.2 are both available as a 6speed manual, I doubt Ford would have completely redesigned a gearbox between one and the other. As long as I stick to the PSA DW range of TDCI and dont try and mix and match between that and the earlier 'Puma' chain driven TDCI then technically I should be okay?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Cheers
