Help needed Focus TDDi
Hi all, I have had a Focus 1.8 TDDi 2004 estate for a year. Very pleased with MPG.
A couple of months ago the car started cutting out and then would start again normally with the key. Brown pants time came when it cut out on the motorway with a big artic lorry right up my backside, I managed to turn of the ignition and start again only for it to cut out again a few hundred meters down the road. I trolled through all the forums and taking advice I had the fuel oil air and pollen filters changed which made no difference.
Back to the forums, I had the crankshaft sensor and the accelerator pedal changed
Still no difference.
Had a nightmare last week when it cut out 8 times on a 6 mile journey.
I called out the RAC who did some diagnostics and came up with;
U1900 CAN Communication Bus Fault - Receive Error B902
The nice man from the RAC decided to follow me home, but cars being cars, no problems.
I bought my self a Ford F Super Diagnostic interface, this came up with 2 more error codes;
U0105 Communication with fuel injector control module
P0149 Fuel timing error.
I would appreciate any help or advice from the forum. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I have just had the exact same problem with my Focus tddi. When I accelerated over a certain amount the engine light would come on and all power would be lost until you turned the key again. My mechanic thought that it was the pedal too and got me a new one but it made no difference. It was then diagnosed by Ford as needing a new fuel pump. I managed to find one for £125 from Oldham Car Parts which my mechanic fitted and so far touch wood I have not had the problem again.
I hope that this helps.

Hi yes here are the details, I got the quote from www.1stchoice.co.uk
FORD FOCUS 5 DOOR HATCHBACK 1.8 CL TDDI 2000 DIESEL
£125.00 FUEL INJECTION PUMP, BOSCH NUMBER 0470004006 3months guarantee [Used]
I think that my mechanic said that you had to have the exact one for your model so I guess it might be different for a 2004 model. Also after it was fitted by the mechanic he also had to take it to the ford garage to get it reprogrammed.
Hope that helps. I dont know much about cars but that is what happened with mine.
