I got the same problem on my 57 plate. It really noticeable in 3rd and 4th gear! Has anyone got any ideas to what would cause this! Or any advise on things to check??

First step. Get fault codes read from ECU.

Then go from there. It could be fuel system related, or turbo fault causing over-boost - lots of things it 'could be'.

Default c max 2.0 TDCI will not run until sat for 1 min

New to this forum so ello to everyone.
Got a 2005 ford focus c max ghia , 95000 on clock always been serviced by ford just had major service 2 weeks ago.
When i start in the morning i have to wait about 1 min before she will rev propley. If i was to put my foot down before the minute was up blue smoke would start to come out. Also before this from 3rd to 4th gear and only in 4th gear i could only get up to 2 1/2 3000 revs and she would go no more. Sometimes by letting off the power she wold come back or you just changed to 5 gear and its ok but you could not the the speed to go to 6 gear.
Took it back to ford and it was put on there fault machine and 8 faults came up. Wanted £300 just to investergate and worse case is the turbo £1500.
SO told them to stop i will pick it up.
Anyone got any clues as to whats going on?
thanks
Rob

What were the 8 fault codes?

Strange one on a Focus cmax 1800 TDCI at work this week, no power only rev to 3k rpm, was a code in for glow plugs circuit failure, tested glow plugs, none worked, fitted 4 x glow plugs - fixed.

A lot of 'old school' guys would probably dismiss a glow plug related code, but on modern stuff they play a part in emission control.

Did not give me the fault codes but i will ask and see if the glow plug was on there.
They do not come on when the engine is started i always make sure there out before starting and they go very quick.
GVK thanks for help.
