Fiesta TDCI 2002-2008 Leak Off Pipes Problems, Injectors, Air Leaking
Hello.
At a wits end with my Wifes Fiesta.
She has a Fiesta 1.4 TDCI 2008 plate the range from years 2002 - 2008 MK6
So, original problem was the injector seals repalced them put everything back together car started fine. then went to start it the next morning and the fuel had run back, so it would not start.
So, replaced both the leak off pipes and the primer assembly loop (both brand new)
This worked OK or at least i thought it did, the fuel primed up lovely once i managed to get the prime topped up (and a little encouragement by sucking on the fuel delivery pipe)
The car fired and then started leaking fuel from injector 4 (the far right looking at the engine). The fuel came from between the metal of the injector and the nipple that clamped into the injector. So I removed this injector and repalced the R clamp that secures the nippled. The same happened again fuel started leaking. At this time we also had that Transmission light on and limp mode engaged (which I assume was the lack of pressure and then leaking of the fuel causing the car to go into limp mode)
So, I replaced said injector with a spare that I have from a previous car (been advised by the recon suppliers of these injectors that they are not coded and thus can be swapped about).
Tonight i installed the new injector, the R clamp bit into place lovely, a much tighter fit than the previous one. Put everything back together and then fired, no warning light for about 1 minute until the leak off pipe on injector 1 (far left) blew off this time from the top plastic nipple which adjioned pipe 1 to pipe 2.
Took it off fixed that one back on with a little glue for good measure.
Fired again and then leak off pipe 2 blew off again from the plastic nipple which adjioned injector pipe 2 to injector pipe 1 (for confirmation not the plastic inserted into the metal injector, but the actual link between the pipes).
I am a little lost with this.
The leak off pipes are the genuine ford ones 1552402 so they should be fine, the fitment is snug.
TBH I have changed these on my old TDCI before and they were a pain but not like this.
What is strange however is that the fuel is not running back, i.e. even after staying still for a night there is still plenty of fuel in the top pipes (the see through pipe running from the block on the left to the right into the green pipe from the fuel tank.
Whilst starting I have kept the fuel cap unlocked to try and push some fuel / any air locks through.
Can any one please help? At a loose end on this.
My apologies for the essay just wanted to confirm as much info as possible to hope to get a resolution.
Thanks for any help and advise given.
