Failed MOT on seat belt and headlamp alignment.
Had an MOT yesterday, which failed, on my Fiesta MK6 05 plate.
The reasons for refusal for a test certificate are -
I had a look on the internet and a lot of people say to fix the seat belt problem you need to lower down the back seat and then slam it hard into position to release the mechanism. Did this several times and it made no difference. Any ideas on how to fix it?
Pictures of seat belt -
And how do I adjust the aim of the headlamps?
Thanks for looking...

Remove the centre belt and the latch. If it isn't there it can't be tested. Of course then replace it with a good working unit ASAP.
As for the alignment, they should really have been aligned as part of an MOT, unless of course there is another reason that they won't align, maybe due to incorrectly seated bulbs or whatever. They should however have told you why they couldn't adjust them.

Can you remove the seat belt after its been through the MOT test and failed?
Didn't really give me a reason why the headlamps where misaligned. I got he test done in North West Ambulance Service Nhs Trust who don't do repair work.

Apologies for regurtitating this thread...Fiesta Seat Release
New Member.....My son has an 03 plate 1.4 TDCi Fiesta with a similar problem.
Rear passenger side back rest release not working and the centre seat belt can't be extended. Suggested a new belt mechanism be bought to fix that but need some advice on the seat problem. Noticed other posts dealt with similar front seat problems. But the rear seat seems a bit more difficult. Haynes manual as helpful as a chocolate tea pot! Any advice or help much appreciated.

Lift up the base of the rear seat, unbolt the bottom of the seat belt and give it a good yank, try and get someone to give the back of the seatbelt a smack at the same time.
You'll probably find the seat isnt releasing because the seatbelt has locked.

if there is a seat fitted there must be a seatbelt,
he will have to remove rear seats
or fit a working seatbelt,
